Skeletal Flowers were adamant on a retro look that hearkens to the sweet old age of pixelated games and neon signs of old arcade parlours. All this as a backdrop for the actual NFTs- which are significantly more modern feeling and chock full of pop-culture references from various times. The initial apprehensions about the two very different visual directions eventually gave way to excitement as we started to figure out ways to tie it all together.
We brainstormed elements of the past that would best fit the need and eventually settled on neon lights and nineties budget special effects as an inspiration. But before the user even got to the actual NFT collection they would be greeted by an animation set to the mouse scroll of a 3d model that showcased the wearables that skeletal flowers would be providing in the near future as a sort of motion roadmap. This part was all about precision and refinement of the animation with care taken to make sure the animation would pause at the right moments to showcase all the apparel in a way that feIt organic to the user.
